Kapil Sibal elected President of Supreme Court Bar Association.

Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal was elected as the New President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on 16th May, 2024.

Mr. Sibal Secured 1,066 Votes and defeated nearest rival Senior Advocate Pradeep Rai, who got 689 votes. 

Sr. Adv. Kapil Sibal is now serving Bar, 4th Time. Last, he served as president of the Bar in 2001-02, also in the year 1995 and 1997.

Senior Advocate Rachna Srivastava has been elected as Vice-President of SCBA and Vikrant Yadav as Secretary of SCBA. 

In an interview Reason was asked for contesting in SCBA President election, Mr. Sibal stated " I want to get out of my comfort zone and do something effective not only for Bar but for the Country", further he added about the politics and the judicial system, he stated Rule of Law should be maintained, it is the duty of lawyers to protect the Laws and Rights of the people, for the people......."
